These professionals are trained in providing comprehensive eye and vision care, which includes refraction& dispensing, detection, diagnosing & managing ocular problems and rehabilitation of conditions of the visual system. They are trained to determine the refractive errors and suggest appropriate correction. They deal with eye testing, diagnose visual problems, optometric counseling, treating color blindness & hereditary vision defects, prescribing spectacles and suggesting eye exercises.
Eligibility for admission
- The candidates who have completed Pre-University (10+2) examination with sciences subjects PCB, PCMB, CBZ as the major subjects will be admitted to 2nd year diploma course.
- The candidates who have completed SSLC or equivalent examination will be admitted to 1st year diploma course.
- Eligibility for admission is as per Para Medical Board (GOK) norms as amended from time to time.
